A lovely couple, Kelly and Patrick, met through mutual friends and have been “inseparable ever since”. Recently wed in September, 2014, they hosted a large fall wedding in New Jersey, with 120 guests attending. Read more about the special moments leading to their big wedding day!

The Proposal

Without Kelly knowing, Patrick enlisted the help of her best friend to create the perfect ring. On Tuesday, December 18th 2013, Kelly was on her way home from work. When she walked into the house, she found Patrick waiting on one knee, ready to propose. What a surprise!

Planning the Wedding

Kelly planned for a romantic wedding with a light pink and gold color scheme. She decided to use the Versailles Ballroom centerpieces and made many of her own decorations. “I’m obsessed with tissue paper flowers. I made my card box out of 3 hat boxes and used gold glitter spray paint.”

She ordered her gold and pink wedding invitations from Wedding Paper Divas and a few things off Etsy. “I loved my candy bar sign that said ‘treat yo self’.”

Kelly brought her own sheer light pink linens, and chose modern white table and chair covers from the Accessories menu. To complement, she selected peach napkins and gold chargers for her table setting.

The Dress

“I had a Maggie Solerro dress. It was a mermaid style dress with a corset back and lace overlay. I added a crystal belt. I am a very simple girl, so I wore my mother’s pearl earrings and, for my something blue, her blue topaz and diamond ring. I also wore a diamond bracelet symbolizing a knot.”

The Wedding Venue

The bride and groom chose Versailles Ballroom in New Jersey as their wedding venue, based on their research of reviews, price, and amenities. “The cost for what you got was unbeatable. I wanted to celebrate ‘us’ not break the bank.” We’re honored that Kelly and Patrick chose our banquet venue to enjoy their big day!

The Versailles Ballroom Experience

Kelly describes her wedding day as a “dream” because, “It was so wonderful, and I felt like if I blinked it would be over”.

The first dance song was “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz, simply because “It just made sense for us.”

Cocktail hour during the reception included hors d’oeuvres, mashed potato bar and a Jersey Shore station. Kelly and Patrick also chose chicken, prime rib, and stuffed sole for dinner entrees on their wedding menu.

The wedding cake was an ombre gold three-layer round cake with rough frosting and light pink flowers, included in their wedding package.

Kelly and Patrick’s favorite memory of their wedding was of celebrating with their families.

Happily Ever After

When we followed up with Kelly and Patrick, we found out that the couple is expecting their first baby in August, congratulations!
