Suit Up, NJ Grooms! Top Groomsmen Trends

September 14, 2015 | Posted in Trends, Weddings

When it comes to formalwear, it’s not just New Jersey brides and bridesmaids that get to have fun. The guys are setting fashion trends of their own – from mismatched looks and dressed-down suits to surprising sock selections.

From head to toe, there are dozens of ways a groom can truly shine in wedding formalwear. (And remember, the Versailles Ballroom at the Ramada Toms River holds up to 300 guests – so as the groom, you certainly don’t want to get lost in the crowd!)

Unsure where to begin? Here are some fashion tips from our Hotels Unlimited couples:

If you’re a more traditional type, start small. Changing out one or two pieces is a ridiculously simple way to make the groom look dynamic. A simple all-white vest and tie was all it took for this Versailles Ballroom wedding party to achieve a classic wedding look while also making the groom stand out.

Don’t be afraid to step outside the monochrome box. This bold groom donned a turquoise vest and tie, which gave his suit a snazzy appeal and played off his groomsmen’s black ties beautifully.

Similar to the mismatched bridesmaid trend, plenty of grooms and groomsmen are opting for slight variations on their formalwear to stand out. Check out how these fellas pulled off their grey tuxes – we love the colorful result!

Who knew that socks could be such a critical piece of groomsmen fashion? The crazier, the better. We’ve seen patterns, stripes, and even cartoon characters make their way onto our grooms and groomsmen’s feet.

Wedding formalwear no longer means a suit with all the bells and whistles, either. That doesn’t mean it’s not a special occasion – in fact, our New Jersey grooms and groomsmen have looked absolutely dashing dressed in matching suits and vests. The look is perfect for a rustic springtime ceremony or a Jersey Shore wedding (perhaps at the Versailles Ballroom?) in the summer.

No matter what route the groom takes, he’ll have plenty of ideas for ways to make sure his personality shines through on the big day. Be sure to check out photos from the Versailles Ballroom for more ideas, or contact us if you’re ready to plan your Jersey Shore wedding.
